Too much choice can be debilitating. Yet, every day we are provided with even more options for what to watch, listen to, play, and read. How do you decide where to spend your time?
Our Media Insights Team at Agility did some of the heavy lifting for you. Using Agility Monitoring, we uncovered what’s causing the PR buzz in entertainment in the following five categories: movies, television, music, books, and video games.
Based on the information from reputable sources within the entertainment industry, we determined which artists or products have recently become top performers or have been labeled as “the best” based on a keyword search. We then measured how much media buzz (mentions in online and print media and impressions) these various artists or products attained.
Without further ado, here’s our curated list of what you should be watching, reading, playing, and listening to according to media monitoring.
Sequels aren’t always a letdown. According to IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, “Top Gun: Maverick”, the sequel to Tom Cruises’ famous 1986 high-flying film, may indeed be better than its predecessor. Compare its 8.6 on IMDb and 96% on Rotten Tomatoes to the 6.9 and 58% of “Top Gun”.
Perhaps unsurprisingly then, “Top Gun: Maverick” is this month’s Best Reviewed New Movie and Top of Box Office by mentions and impressions. With over 100,000 mentions in both categories, it blows its competition out of the sky.
Best Reviewed New Movie | “Downton Abbey: A New Era” 14,400+ mentions | “Hustle” 6,800+ mentions |
Top of Box Office | “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”* 56,500+ mentions | “Jurassic World Dominion” 29,900+ mentions |
*At the time of monitoring, Doctor Strange was still in theatres, it has since moved to Disney+ and is available to stream.

Released earlier this year, Elden Ring is an award-winning role-playing game (RPG), created in collaboration with George R. R. Martin who wrote the game’s overarching mythos. It probably comes as no surprise then that it surpassed the other two Best Selling Video Games and Best Reviewed Games in our media monitoring results by 30,000 mentions!
Best Selling Video Game | Elden Ring 37,200+ mentions | Nintendo Switch Sports 5,600+ mentions | Evil Dead: The Game 7,000+ mentions |

But could Elden Ring soon be ousted from its number 1 spot? There are three video games in our Most Anticipated category that could give Elden Ring a run for its money: Final Fantasy XVI (releasing 2023), Starfield (2023), and Overwatch 2 (releasing October 22).
