AMP3 Public Relations is soon launching its “Impact” division, a sector specializing in publicity work for sustainable and/or philanthropic brands in the fashion, lifestyle and beauty space. Currently, the agency’s roster is at least 75% impact brands, and AMP3’s goal to solely represent social impact brands by 2022 (if not sooner), marks the agency as the first Fashion PR firm to step out with an official pledge.

“Social responsibility is no longer a marketing tactic or a differentiator for brands, it’s a necessity,” says Alyson Roy, co-founder and managing partner. “At AMP3 PR, we are deeply passionate about helping brands to develop and communicate social impact campaigns that promote sustainability, equality and/or philanthropy initiatives, and that support the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”

After noticing a shift in consumer behavior and a true desire for storytelling from brands that are doing their part to make an impact, AMP3 began helping its existing clientele to connect or partner with nonprofits to implement give-back initiatives, or to strengthen their ethical and eco capabilities from the supply chain to the end user.

“The fashion industry has incredible influence over the global community thanks to its direct access to the everyday consumer via tools like social media, point of sale, and digital marketing,” continues Roy, “It’s up to all of us to change the way we work. Not every brand can do everything, but every brand can do something—and when vetting new clients going forward, we will be requiring our brands to let us help discover and maximize whatever that something is.”

Past Impact work includes helping TENCELTM, a sustainable & biodegradable fiber used by a range of household apparel & housewares brands, to implement their first-ever consumer-facing campaign during Earth Month 2019, conceptualizing Cat Footwear’s “Build for Better” ongoing give-back initiative, and working with vegan, cruelty- free, natural, skincare brand DERMA E on its clean beauty efforts. AMP3 Impact is the first PR agency to partner with the Conscious Fashion Campaign, a global initiative designed to unite the fashion industry to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs, supported by the United Nations Office for Partnerships.
