Qorvis Communications, the D.C.-based public affairs and public diplomacy arm of Publicis Groupe, announced that Kara Hauck has joined the firm as a vice president of public affairs.
Hauck comes from Capitol Hill, where she most recently served as communications director for the House Republican Conference and its chair, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). In that role, she led an accomplished team of communications and creative professionals responsible for informing and educating the public about policies advancing in the U.S. House, including tax reform and healthcare.
“Kara’s distinguished work serving as a communications advisor to the highest levels of Congressional leadership make her a tremendous asset to our firm,” said Qorvis Communications Founder and President Michael Petruzzello. “We look forward to applying her experience in advancing integrated communications campaigns to our clients’ public affairs agendas.”
A veteran of Ohio politics, Hauck previously served in a variety of communications roles for several members of Congress, including communications director for former House Speaker John A. Boehner’s (R-OH) political operation and press secretary for Rep. Steve Stivers (R-OH).
Hauck said, “I am excited to join the high-caliber team of strategists at Qorvis at a time when the firm is experiencing significant growth. I’ve always admired the tenacious approach to communications that Qorvis offers its clients, which allows the firm to truly capitalize on the changing nature of communications.”
