PrivateFly Names Zapwater Communications U.S. Agency of Record

by | Apr 11, 2018

PrivateFly, a global booking platform for on-demand private jet charter, has selected Zapwater Communications as its U.S. public relations agency of record.  Zapwater will be responsible for media relations, events and partnerships within the United States.

PrivateFly is a fast-growing, disruptive business model in the traditional private jet brokering sector, comparing live pricing and availability for over 7,000 accredited private aircraft worldwide. Launched in 2008, PrivateFly combines innovative, custom-built technology with a passionate team of aviation experts. PrivateFly was founded by Adam Twidell and Carol Cork, co-founders and a husband-and-wife team who saw a gap in the market for a tech-driven business model, to unify and aggregate the highly fragmented private charter industry—in a similar way to the price comparison services now offered in other travel sectors such as airlines, hotels and car rental. In February 2018 it became a preferred partner of Virtuoso, the world’s leading luxury travel network.

“We are thrilled to add PrivateFly to our roster of boundary breaking, travel industry clients,” said David Zapata, president of Zapwater Communications. “With both a growing aviation practice, including Finnair and World Airways, as well as a robust  travel luxury category, including La Sultana Signature,  Coco Prive Private Islandand Casa Kimberly, Zapwater is uniquely positioned to support PrivateFly in targeting the ultra-high-net-worth traveler and the media who reach them.”

Zapwater’s engagement with the jet charter company began in March 2018 and will be managed primarily out of the agency’s Los Angeles office.
