Associated Press: promotes Brad Foss (@bradfoss_) to Global Business Editor, replacing Lisa Gibbs (@lisagibbs954), who became Director of News Partnerships.

Austin American-Statesman: Lilly Rockwell (@statesman) has left.

Bloomberg News: appoints Shelly Banjo (@sbanjo) as a Reporter covering technology businesses in Asia.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram: Steve Kaskovich (@stevekasko) has left for a communications job with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

New York Daily News: Arthur Browne, Jim Gaines and Rebecca Baker will leave at the end of the year (@NYDailyNews).

New York Times: hires Ali Watkins (@AliWatkins) as National Security Reporter, effective Dec. 18. She’s based in D.C.

Reuters: hires Stephen Farrell (@farrellreporter) as Jerusalem Bureau Chief.

Southern California News Group: promotes Scott Kaufman (@SoCalNewsGroup) to Opinion Editor, replacing Brian Calle, who is now managing LA Weekly.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch: promotes Lisa Brown (@lisabrownstl) to Business Editor, replacing Roland Klose (@rwklose) who will oversee enterprise coverage on the metro desk.

USA Today: Joanne Lipman (@joannelipman) will leave at the end of the month to work on a book project.

Wall Street Journal: promotes Emily Gitter (@emilygitter) to Editor of a new weekend business and finance section.

Broadcasting

WTTW-TV: Joel Weisman will retire in January (@wttw). He has served as host and senior editor of “Chicago Tonight: The Week in Review” since its launch 40 years ago. His last appearance will be in a special edition of the program scheduled to air Jan. 19, 2018.

Business and Commerce

Forbes Media: promotes Randall Lane (@RandallLane) to Chief Content Officer.

Consumer Lifestyle

W magazine: will reduce frequency from 11 to eight issues in 2018 (@wmag). It’s also raising the cover price to $9.99. The magazine will undergo a redesign, and each issue will be dubbed as a “volume” following a theme, such as fashion and film in February.

Healthcare and Medicine

American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA): acquires O&P News (@OandPNews) from Slack Inc., effective with the January issue.

McKnight’s Long-Term Care News: Emily Mongan (@mcknightsltcn) has left for a non-editorial communications job.

Slack Inc.: acquires Nephrology News and Issues (NNI) from Grand View Media Group. Slack will incorporate the publication into Healio.com. NNI Editor-in-Chief Mark E. Neumann will remain in that role.

Technology and Telecoms

Linux Journal: has ceased publication (@linuxjournal), effective with the November issue.

Daily Star: Sophie Roberts (@LittleBitSoph) has been named Lifestyle & Travel Journalist.

Guardian, The: will be changing to a tabloid format from January 2nd 2018 (@guardian). Grace Dent (@gracedent) has also joined as Restaurant Critic.

Leader, The: Barrie Jones (@bpjbpjbpj) will be leaving the title at the end of the year.

Swindon Advertiser: Thomas Howarth (@Adver_Tom) has been appointed Political Reporter.

Because Magazine: Abigail Gurney-Read (@becausemagazine) has been named Managing Editor.

Better Retailing: Alex Yau (@alexyau_rn) has been appointed RN Products Reporter.

Emeraldstreet.com: Daisy Jackson (@daisyejackson) has been promoted to Assistant Editor.

Hello! Fashion Monthly: Rachel Story (@rachelstory29) has been promoted to Fashion Editor.

Smallish: Sophie Tweedale (@sztweedale) has been appointed Editor-in-Chief.

Tatler: Kate Reardon has left.

That’s Life: Carly Minnis is on leave. Holly Slater and Lindsay Baker are covering (@thatslifeuk).

Vet Record: formerly The Veterinary Record, has relaunched with a new design, extra features and easier to read format (@Vet_Record).
