Notable journalist and media industry moves:
- The Wall Street Journal: releases a number of changes to take effect on December 16. Naftali Bendavid, D.C. editor, to oversee health policy, law enforcement, and federal courts coverage. Michelle Hackman moves from politics reporter to health policy team. Stephanie Armour and Louise Radnofsky also move to this team. Aruna Viswanatha joins Devlin Barrett on the Justice Department beat. Aaron Zitner, national politics editor, and FDA reporter Thomas Burton will oversee Congressional coverage. Susan Benkelman, news editor, will lead new intersection of business and government beat; Ted Mann, Brody Mullins, Kate O’Keefe, John McKinnon, and William Mauldin will be on Benkelman’s new team. Jeanne Cummings, political editor, will lead Carol Lee, Peter Nicholas, Michael Bender, and Damian Paletta on the White House reporting team. Jon Hilsenrath, chief economics correspondent, to oversee global economics beat. Becky Bowers becomes deputy global economics editor. Mark Anderson moves from real-time deputy to deputy editor of the financial regulatory group. Janet Hook and Reid Epstein to cover Democratic Party beat. Laura Meckler to cover demographic changes and the immigration debate. Andrew LaVallee moves from Greater New York deputy bureau chief to deputy corporate bureau chief. Christina Binkley, style columnist, to leave in January but will continue contributing as a freelancer.
- The Courier-Journal (Louisville, KY): Joel Christopher moves from Gannett VP to executive editor and VP of news. Christopher replaces Neil Budde, who leaves.
- Politico: Josh Dawsey, Greater New York reporter for The Wall Street Journal, joins as White House correspondent.
