Notable journalist and media industry moves:

The Washington Post: Maria Sacchetti, formerly with The Boston Globe, joins as immigration reporter. Susan Hogan moves from overnight news editor to “Morning Mix” deputy editor. Tracee Hamilton moves from sports columnist to day news editor on the sports team but remains Olympics editor. Mike Hume moves from sports assignment editor to NFL editor. Hume replaces Keith McMillan, who moves to Major League Baseball and NBA editor. Ron Klain, former chief of staff for Joe Biden, becomes contributing opinion columnist.

The Wall Street Journal: Jon Hilsenrath moves from Federal Reserve reporter to global economics editor. Becky Bowers moves from Real Time Economics editor to deputy global economics editor. Nick Timiraos moves from economics reporter to chief economic correspondent.

TheStreet.com: Susan Antilla, Ruben Ramirez, Gregg Greenberg, and Lou Whiteman leave.

Newsweek: Matt McAllester moves from Europe editor to global editor; he will replace editor-in-chief Jim Impoco, who is leaving.

Lifehacker: Melissa Kirsch, former deputy editor for SheKnows, joins as editor-in-chief.

Buzzfeed: Hannah Allam, formerly with McClatchy, joins as reporter covering Muslim life in America.

CBSN: Josh Elliott, daytime anchor, leaves.

Wired: Andrea Valdez, web editor for Texas Monthly, joins as editor of Wired.com.

WNET-TV (New York, NY): Geraldine Moriba, former VP/executive producer at CNN, joins as programming consultant for multi-platform initiatives.

ABC News: Richard Besser, chief health and medical editor, leaves to become president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Quartz: John Macini, former NBC News senior director of digital newsgathering, joins as global news editor.

CNBC.com: Tom Lowry, senior editor, leaves.

South Florida Business Journal: Judy Miller, formerly with Miami Herald, joins as managing editor.

San Francisco Business Times: Alisha Green, former CQ Roll Call reporter, joins as technology reporter.

Slate: Helaine Olen, personal finance columnist, leaves.

Veterinary Practice News: Ellyce Rothrock, former editor-in-chief of Pet Product News International, joins as editor. Rothrock replaces Ken Niedziela, who now acts as a contributor.

Skiing: moves to digital-only format (print content will appear in sister publication Ski) with Kimberly Beekman remaining as editor-in-chief.

American Salon: Amy Dodds, managing editor of The Colorist, replaces Marianne Dougherty as editor-in-chief.

Hospitals & Health Networks: Bill Santamour, former editorial director, retires. New pictures should be directed to news editor Paul Barr or executive editorial director Michelle Hoffman.

Time Out New York: Jillian Anthony moves from sections editor to editor. Joel Meares moves from national content editor to editor-in-chief of Time Out North America.

Spectrum News: Michael Pearson, Austin and San Antonio news and programming director, leaves.

Health System Management: Monique Barrett, associate editor, leaves to take a communications job at Temple University. Queries can be directed to editor Howard Whitman.

The Intercept: Naomi Klein, contributing editor for The Nation, joins as senior correspondent covering the Trump administration.

CTV Ottawa: Henry Burris, former Ottawa Redblacks quarterback, joins as CTV Ottawa Morning Live co-host. He will also be a CFL analyst for TSN 1200 and CFRA.

CBC: Stuart McLean, CBC Radio host for over 20 years, passed away.

Toronto Star: David Skok, associate editor and head of editorial strategy, leaves. JP Fozo becomes assistant managing editor, digital platforms. Laura Armstrong takes on Blue Jays beat.

Q107 Toronto: Jennifer Valentyne joins Q107’s “Derringer in the Morning” as co-host.

CANADALAND: Hadiya Roderique, Ashley Csanady, and Ryan McMahon are new hosts of CANADALAND podcast COMMONS.

National Post: Michael Den Tandt, political columnist, leaves.

Ottawa Citizen/Ottawa Sun: Alan Kors, night news editor, leaves in recent buyouts.

Global News: Lacy Atalick and former JSource reporter Eric Mark Do join social media desk.
