Associated Press: promotes Nancy Benac (@nbenac) to White House editor.

Denver Post: will cut about 30 newsroom jobs, bringing the newsroom to fewer than 70 positions. Cuts will be announced in about a month (@denverpost).

Wall Street Journal: Joann S. Lublin retires.

Washington Post: Monica Castillo (@mcastimovies) joins as a Contract News writer for The Lily, its online publication for women. She’s based in New York.


Fox News: John Moody (@FoxNews) has left.

WPVI-TV: hires Chris Messick (@cmessick17) as News Producer.

Business and Commerce

Axios: hires Scott Rosenberg (@scottros) as Technology Editor.

Consumer Lifestyle

Women’s Health: hires Abigail Cuffey (@alcuffey) as Executive Editor.

Culture, Entertainment and the Arts

Jezebel: hires Tracy Clark-Flory (@TracyClarkFlory) as Senior Writer.

Healthcare and Medicine

Bio/Pharmaceutical Outsourcing Report: Jim Miller retires (@JimPharmSource). Pitches should continue to go to Managing Editor Elizabeth Tilley Hinkle (@PharmSource).

Frontline Medical Communications: appoints Sathya Achia Abraham (@SathyaAchiaAbra) as Senior Editor of Current Psychiatry, replacing Patrice Weeks, who is now a Senior Editor with RevHealth. Abraham’s responsibilities include “Out of the Pipeline,” the only section that’s open to PR. It features news about drug approvals.

Politics, Government and Education

Atlantic, The: launches “Family,” an online section covering the “the cultural, political, and economic forces shaping America’s families.” Senior Editor Rebecca Rosen (@beccarosen) will oversee the section along with education coverage. The magazine is recruiting a deputy editor and reporters to work on family coverage.

CNN Politics: hires Clare Foran (@ckmarie) as Breaking News Writer.

Sludge: hires Jay Cassano (@jcassano) as a Reporter covering government secrecy.

Alphaville: Jamie Powell (@ajb_powell) has been named Reporter.

Sunday Mirror: John Prescott (@johnprescott) has been appointed Columnist.

Sunday Times Style: Leila Hartley (@leilahartley) has been named Creative Producer.

Telegraph Technology Intelligence: Harry de Quettville (@harrydq) has been named Tech Special Correspondent. James Titcomb (@jamestitcomb) has been appointed Silicon Valley Bureau Chief. Telegraph Technology Intelligence is a new tech section based between London and Silicon Valley. The Technology Intelligence coverage will be featured in a daily technology page in the business section of The Telegraph, a new technology section on the website and Live App as well as a daily Alexa “technology flash” briefing for Amazon Echo users and a daily newsletter. There will eventually be 12 journalists split between the UK and US teams.

Bolton News: Ian Savage (@iansavagebn) will be leaving his role as Editor, once a successor has been appointed.

Dereham Times: has moved to new offices at the Breckland Business Centre (@derehamtimes).

Gloucestershire Echo: Jenny Eastwood (@JennyEGlos) and Andrew Merrell (@andy_merrell) have left.

Leicester Mercury: Martin Crowson (@martin_crowson) has left.

Maidenhead Advertiser: Stephen Delahunty (@stephen_bm) has been promoted to Entertainment Editor but will also retain a Reporter role.

Newark Advertiser: Josh Clarke (@advertisergroup) has been named Junior Reporter. Chris Prime has left. Sharon Hodkin (@shodkin_NA) has been promoted to Editor & Director.


BBC News & Current Affairs: Nick Beake (@Beaking_News) has been named Myanmar Correspondent.

Heart Network: Emma Grit (@EmmaGritt) has been appointed Digital Managing Editor.

Sky News: Duarte Garrido (@duartemgarrido) and Peter Lowe (@peterlowesky) have been named Senior Producer and Head of Homes News respectively.

ELLE: Gillian Wilkins (@elleuk) has been named Fashion Director.

Gay Times Magazine: has moved to new offices at Rivington Street, London (@gaytimesmag).
