Denver Post: will cut about 30 newsroom jobs, bringing the newsroom to fewer than 70 positions. Cuts will be announced in about a month (@denverpost).

Washington Post: Monica Castillo (@mcastimovies) joins as a Contract News writer for The Lily, its online publication for women. She’s based in New York.

Frontline Medical Communications: appoints Sathya Achia Abraham (@SathyaAchiaAbra) as Senior Editor of Current Psychiatry, replacing Patrice Weeks, who is now a Senior Editor with RevHealth. Abraham’s responsibilities include “Out of the Pipeline,” the only section that’s open to PR. It features news about drug approvals.
Politics, Government and Education
Atlantic, The: launches “Family,” an online section covering the “the cultural, political, and economic forces shaping America’s families.” Senior Editor Rebecca Rosen (@beccarosen) will oversee the section along with education coverage. The magazine is recruiting a deputy editor and reporters to work on family coverage.
CNN Politics: hires Clare Foran (@ckmarie) as Breaking News Writer.
Sludge: hires Jay Cassano (@jcassano) as a Reporter covering government secrecy.

Telegraph Technology Intelligence: Harry de Quettville (@harrydq) has been named Tech Special Correspondent. James Titcomb (@jamestitcomb) has been appointed Silicon Valley Bureau Chief. Telegraph Technology Intelligence is a new tech section based between London and Silicon Valley. The Technology Intelligence coverage will be featured in a daily technology page in the business section of The Telegraph, a new technology section on the website and Live App as well as a daily Alexa “technology flash” briefing for Amazon Echo users and a daily newsletter. There will eventually be 12 journalists split between the UK and US teams.
