Bloomberg News: hires Ali Stratton (@_AliStratton_) as a Reporter focusing on food, retail and other consumer-related companies.

Buffalo News: hires Josh Barnett (@byjoshbarnett) as Executive Sports Editor.

Houston Chronicle: hires Erica Grieder (@EricaGrieder) as Metro Columnist, effective in October. Paul Takahashi (@paultakahashi) join as same.

New Yorker, The: Susan Glasser (@sbg1) is now writing a twice-monthly politics column for the website. She will focus on the domestic impact of Trump administration actions. She will continue to write her international-affairs column for Politico.

Reuters: hires Paresh Dave (@peard33) as Tech Reporter. He will focus on Google and its related companies including YouTube and Waymo.

Vox.com: promotes Lauren Williams (@laurenwilliams) to Editor-in-Chief, replacing Ezra Klein, who moves to Editor-at-Large. Director of programming Allison Rockey (@AllisonRockey) is now Executive Editor and Director of Editorial Strategy.

Wall Street Journal: hires Michael R. Gordon as a National Security Reporter, effective in mid-November. He will focus on the Pentagon and the State Department. Julie Bykowicz (@bykowicz) joins in early October to cover money and politics. She’s based in D.C. Dan Kruger (@TheRealDFK) joins as a Reporter covering Treasury bonds and currencies. Allison Prang (@AllisonPrang) joins as a Breaking News Reporter, effective Oct. 5. Ian Talley (@iantalley) is now covering economic sanctions, terror finance and other topics related to global illicit finance.

CNN: hires Veronica Rocha (@VeronicaRochaLA) as an Online Breaking News Reporter.

KOIN-TV: hires Justin Burton (@jburtonnews) as Assistant News Director.

KUOW-FM: hires Jill Jackson (@jacksonjk) as News Director.

SiriusXM: hires Megan Liberman (@meganliberman) as Senior VP for News, Talk and Entertainment.

WRIC-TV: Parker Slaybaugh leaves, effective October 4.

Business and Commerce

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance: promotes Anne Kates Smith (@AnneKatesSmith) to Executive Editor.

Consumer Lifestyle

Lifetime: hires Faye Penn (@fayepenn) as VP of Editorial.

New York Times Magazine: launches “On Medicine,” a monthly column by physician and author Siddhartha Mukherjee. He won a Pulitzer Prize for his book “The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer.”

Culture, Entertainment and the Arts

Advertising Age: underwent a major redesign and rebranding. It’s now known officially as “Ad Age.” Editorial changes include the incorporation of “Creativity” as a vertical section in the print edition.
