Associated Press: promotes Peter Prengaman (@peterprengaman) to News Director for the U.S. Western Region. He’s based in Phoenix.

Atlantic, The: hires Dante Ramos (@danteramos) as Senior Editor for the Ideas section.

BuzzFeed News: moves Ryan Broderick (@broderick) to New York, where he will cover “global information dystopia and platform manipulation” from the business and tech desk.

Financial Times: promotes Matthew Garrahan (@MattGarrahan) to News Editor, replacing Peter Spiegel (@SpiegelPeter), who will become U.S. managing editor in New York. Garrahan assumes his new role on April 15.

New York Times: hires Zolan Kanno-Youngs (@KannoYoungs) as a Correspondent covering homeland security, immigration, the border, cyber security, and transnational crime.

USA Today: hires Megan McCarthy (@Megan) as Executive Editor of Growth for Reviewed.com, its product review site. Her job involves expanding the site into new categories. She’ll be hiring new editors and writers.

Sarasota Herald-Tribune: appoints Chris Wille (@HeraldTribune) as Business Editor, in addition to his current responsibilities as Real Estate Editor.

Wall Street Journal: hires John Murawski (@johnmurawski) as a Writer for WSJ Pro AI.

Washington Post: hires Matthew Hay Brown (@matthewhaybrown) as Americas Editor, effective March 11. He will oversee coverage in Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada. Sam Fortier (@Sam4TR) joins as a High School Sports Reporter, effective April 1. He will also back up on the Washington Nationals beat.

KQED-FM: promotes Vinnee Tong (@vinneetong) to Managing Editor of News.

Business and Commerce

Insider Inc.: hires Siddhartha Mahanta (@sidhubaba) as Features Editor, effective in April. He will manage features coverage for Business Insider and Insider.

Marijuana Business Daily: hires former Howard Burns (@howard_burns) as Editor-in-Chief.

Consumer Lifestyle

Hearst Magazines: hires Mike Darling as Executive Editor of digital for Men’s Health (@MensHealthMag).

Healthcare and Medicine

Industry Dive: acquires InsightCity, a three-year-old digital publication for executives in the healthcare and life sciences industries. It will become part of BioPharma Dive, led by Managing Editor Kim Dixon and Senior Editor Ned Pagliarulo (@NedPagliarulo).

Informa Health & Nutrition: promotes Sandy Almendarez (@InformaPLC) to Content Director.

Travel, Transport and Logistics

Air Mail: (https://airmail.news/) hires George Kalogerakis as Deputy Editor. Set to launch this summer, the weekly newsletter is led by Graydon Carter (@egraydoncarter) and Alessandra Stanley. It will cover “the world outside of America on topics such as politics, business, the environment, the arts, literature, film and television, food, design, travel, architecture, society, fashion, and crime.”
