Los Angeles-based nonprofit selects progressive communications firm to amplify its mission of advancing music-based healing
SAN DIEGO (July 14, 2025) – Rhythm & Relief, a 501(c)(3) umbrella charity that supports organizations harnessing the healing power of music, has selected On the One as its public relations agency of record.
Under this partnership, On the One will lead strategic communications planning, message creation and media training, launch communications, and ongoing media relations and brandbuilding efforts. Additionally, the firm will promote Rhythm & Relief’s fundraising initiatives, partnerships with artists and entertainment entities, and member organizations delivering music-based healing programs across the country.

The agency will also spotlight Rhythm & Relief’s ensemble of charity partners, which include Music for All Seasons, Music & Memory, Songwriting With: Soldiers, and Sounds of Saving, among others.
The Los Angeles-based charity was founded by Ward, former CEO of Virgin Entertainment Group (North America) and past Chairman of the Music Business Association, to address a growing public health crisis by funding organizations using music to improve the lives of people affected by trauma, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and other physical and mental health challenges.

Roche launched On the One in 2024 after nearly three decades in PR and as a music writer. As a longtime senior executive at award-winning integrated marketing agency Havas Formula, he counseled top consumer/lifestyle and B-to-B brands, led thought leadership efforts, and promoted events for clients including Guitar Center, Shure, Intuit TurboTax, and Panda Express.
He concurrently built a career as a music and culture journalist, covering artists, concerts, and the intersection of music and social impact for such publications as The San Diego Union-Tribune, San Diego Reader, Times of San Diego, and his national digital music magazine, D-Constructed.
