Kate Mitchell, a consumer branding and public relations strategy expert with nearly a decade of industry experience, has joined APCO Worldwide, announced Nelson Fernandez, chairman, North America and managing director, New York.
Mitchell joins as a senior associate director in APCO’s Food, Consumer Products and Retail practice, and will counsel clients from the firm’s New York office.

A communications industry veteran, Mitchell most recently served as a group manager for Weber Shandwick in New York, overseeing several consumer brand accounts in the food and beverage spaces. During her time with Weber, Mitchell worked closely with clients on strategic, creative and implementation planning for campaigns, provided in-house teams with ongoing counsel and support and developed comprehensive media relations strategies.
Prior to joining Weber in 2013, Mitchell served as an account executive for MSL Group, working with several high-profile consumer retail brands.

Mitchell holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington.
