Clarity, a global integrated communications agency recently commended by PRWeek as a Best International Agency, announced a series of senior leadership appointments.
Effective September 1st, Jon Meakin has been named President, North America, a newly-created role to oversee Clarity’s teams in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Based in San Francisco, Jon brings over 20 years of experience to the Clarity team, most recently serving as Global Head of Strategic Services and SF Managing Director at Grayling, overseeing strategy and execution for domestic and international clients. In his previous role, he oversaw a team whose remits encompassed research, insights and strategy; measurement and evaluation; creative and content solutions; and Grayling’s proprietary online reputation management tool.
Jon’s client experience includes developing and running programs for PayPal, Shell, Unilever, MicroStrategy, Course Hero and INSEAD. In addition, Jon has been a Board member of the International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC) since 2018, and is the founding Chair of that body’s Agency Group, where his focus is on embedding measurement and evaluation best practice throughout the PR agency world.
Jon Meakin explained: “With so many organizations re-thinking the kind of communications support they need, there is a genuine opportunity for a lean and agile international agency like Clarity to re-define what that could look like, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of that.”
In addition, effective September 1st, Kara Silverman has joined Clarity as Managing Director, NYC, with current NYC MD Ruth Sarfaty moving to serve as Head of Client Services, North America. Having led the New York operations of Clarity for the past five years, Ruth will work across all U.S. offices in her new role to drive innovation and elevate programming, measurement and servicing for all clients.
With 15+ years of experience in communications, Kara brings to Clarity a wide range of inhouse and agency b2b and consumer experience. Before Clarity, Kara ran a consultancy aimed at harnessing the power of creative communications and was the first Global Head of Marketing for Acast, the largest global podcast company.
“I’m very excited to welcome such exceptional senior talent to Clarity,” said Clarity founder and CEO Sami McCabe. “To be making these investments in the current economic climate reflects the underlying strength of our business, and our confidence in future growth prospects. Jon, Kara and Ruth form part of an exceptionally strong leadership team focussed on realising our vision for a new type of agency that combines the pace, agility and proactivity of a boutique, with the scale, reach and impact of a large global firm.”
The North American leadership announcements follow a string of recent senior hires for Clarity globally as well as several recent investments in the business including the acquisition of Brew PR Los Angeles and the acquisition of consumer tech agency Dynamo in London. Recent client wins for Clarity include Bambuser, Circle K and Kubient.
