Durée & Company, a Fort Lauderdale and Aspen full-service public relations, marketing and special events firm celebrating its 20th anniversary year, has been named a finalist for the 2020 PRNEWS Platinum PR Awards, “Social Good Campaign During a Global Crisis” category. The agency was nominated for its ongoing work with Feeding South Florida® throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Feeding South Florida is the leading domestic hunger relief organization in South Florida and a member of the Feeding America® network of food banks. Durée & Company’s nomination was based on its efforts to gain local to national awareness about Feeding South Florida’s crucial efforts during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.
Durée & Company is one of eight finalists in the “Social Good Campaign During a Global Crisis” category. The PRNEWS Platinum PR Awards salute the year’s most outstanding communications initiatives and programs in the highly competitive and dynamic PR arena. This awards program sets the industry standard for excellence across all areas of PR. Winners will be unveiled during an Oct. 27 virtual gala.

South Florida was a hot spot for the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was essential to gain national attention for the organization’s critical relief efforts and need for community support including food distributions and other important events. Durée & Company worked tirelessly to distribute imperative information and gain awareness for Feeding South Florida’s efforts, while constantly pivoting to work with changing events and needs of this nonprofit organization. Since March, Durée & Company secured more than 16,928,192,466 media impressions and more than 2,365 local and national media placements for Feeding South Florida.
Feeding South Florida is experiencing a 600% increase in demand during the pandemic. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, an estimated 1.4 million people throughout Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties are experiencing food insecurity. Feeding South Florida immediately mobilized to serve these individuals, ending the fiscal year with 119.2 million pounds of food distributed (99.3 million meals) in the quad-county areas. Feeding South Florida anticipates this level of need to continue for 12–18 months.
