Finsbury Glover Hering announced that it has acquired The Harbour Group (THG), a Washington-based public affairs firm. Founded in 2001, THG specializes on advising international clients – companies, countries, and institutions – on understanding and doing business in the United States.
Finsbury Glover Hering is a new global strategic communications advisory firm, headquartered in New York City with over 800 multidisciplinary experts across the world’s major financial, government, business and cultural centers. The company was formed through the merger of the leading strategic communications consultancies Finsbury, The Glover Park Group and Hering Schuppener.
For more than 20 years THG has created and executed successful campaigns that have impacted policy and business outcomes. During this time THG has worked closely with leading law firms and investment banks to facilitate complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions. It has advised governments on public affairs, strategic communications and foreign policy.
“The Harbour Group has built the nation’s preeminent advisory practice supporting foreign governments and businesses as they seek to navigate the political, business and policy landscape in the US. Their deep expertise will complement and enhance our global network. We couldn’t be more excited to be joining forces,” said Joel Johnson, head of Finsbury Glover Hering’s Washington, DC office.
“We are delighted to join Finsbury Glover Hering. It brings back together good friends with perfectly complementary businesses that have already teamed up on numerous projects,” said THG Managing Director Richard Mintz. “With a developed Middle East network and large Washington office, Finsbury Glover Hering offers our US and international clients access to local and global support along with vastly more capabilities.”
The new combination reunites key principals. Before leaving to join The Glover Park Group in 2006, Joel Johnson, Finsbury Glover Hering Managing Partner and Head of the DC Office, founded The Harbour Group with THG Managing Director Richard Marcus in 2001.
Post closing, The Harbour Group will be fully integrated into Finsbury Glover Hering.
