French/West/Vaughan (FWV), one of the nation’s leading independent public relations, advertising and digital marketing agencies, has officially launched a new post-graduate apprentice program. The program, which is the first of its kind for the agency, will run throughout the summer and is intended to help spring 2020 graduates facing an unusually challenging job market.
The agency received an overwhelming number of resumes from 2020 graduates in search of entry level positions and narrowed it down to the six individuals comprising FWV’s inaugural apprentice class. All apprentices have been assigned a mentor who will teach them the ins and outs of the agency business and help prepare them for successful careers in the public relations/advertising field, whether at FWV or elsewhere. Apprentices will also be given opportunities to work on specific clients and projects that align with their educational and personal interests.
“During this particularly tough employment landscape, we are happy to welcome FWV’s first-ever class of apprentices,” said Rick French, Chairman & CEO of FWV. “This agency is made up of talented, passionate professionals with valuable knowledge to share with the next generation. I expect this program to be mutually beneficial to the agency and our clients, all of whom are always looking for fresh, creative ideas.”
The apprentices join a team of five undergraduate interns and 120 public relations, public affairs, social media, advertising and digital marketing experts between FWV’s Raleigh, N.C. headquarters and other offices around the country.
