Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) agency Golin announced the promotion of Jeff Beringer to president, global digital, overseeing one of the agency’s largest and most in-demand specialty units. Beringer assumed the new role last month and reports to Gary Rudnick, president and chief operating officer.
As president, global digital, Beringer will focus on innovation and future-forward strategies for the agency’s largest clients, lead executive counsel across the specialty area and continue to lead and contribute to the agency’s biggest new business pursuits.
“Jeff is a tenured Golin leader with decades of success in building our digital capabilities, attracting and retaining top clients, and building best in class integrated teams” said Rudnick. “What started as a small practice area with Jeff years ago, has evolved into one of the agency’s largest specialty areas, with digital talent embedded into virtually all of our client relationships. Jeff is also a consummate innovator, and has been a driving force behind many of our agency’s most successful product and service innovations over the years. Under his leadership, our digital teams are strong stewards of our clients’ business and brands. ”
Beringer started at Golin in 2004 and has dedicated his career to IPG and its PR agencies, most recently serving as Golin’s global head of digital. He has effectively managed through huge periods of change in communication, from the early ages of social media and influencer engagement to the metaverse and hybrid experiences of today. Along the way, he built Golin’s digital practice, which today is an integrated specialty unit that serves clients from every location in the agency’s global network. It’s central to many of Golin’s most sought out proprietary tools and products, including its award winning data-driven newsroom, The Bridge, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year.
Beringer is also an accomplished growth leader who consistently contributed to organic growth with existing digital-first clients like Adobe and fresh digital relationships like LinkedIn, for whom the agency serves as its primary social media partner.
“I’m excited to continue leading and nurturing the industry’s most progressive team, to support Golin’s most important client relationships, and collaborate with our other global practices,” said Beringer. “Our digital team adds precision and predictability to public relations through data-driven engagement that impacts every stage of the customer journey.”
Golin’s digital function, which now includes almost 400 global specialists, has embedded talent in some of Golin’s largest, integrated global clients, including Ferrero, J&J Skin Health, McDonald’s, PepsiCo and Walmart, to name a few. Its teams also win and serve digital-first business with dedicated clients like Adobe, where Golin leads social, influencer, analytics and paid media work, and LinkedIn, where Golin is the professional network’s social media agency of record.
In addition to client service, Beringer will continue to contribute to the development of innovative agency products that build reputation, earn online attention and help brands shape culture. He will also serve as a gateway to other IPG agencies who help deliver additional innovative solutions to Golin’s clients, and will also oversee the agency’s relationships with technology partners, digital media outlets and social networks. Recently, Beringer served as an innovation partner to IPG as it reimagined and relaunched IPG’s centralized intelligence function, Collective Intelligence, which delivers insights and ideas to help modern brands thrive.
