Leading strategic communications and government affairs firm The Glover Park Group (GPG) announced that Michael Iger has joined the firm as a Vice President. Iger will work in GPG’s Government Affairs division, utilizing his more than 15 years of legislative experience to serve clients across a broad range of industries.
Iger comes to GPG from Capitol Hill where he served as the Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY) since 2012, working with the Obama and Trump Administrations, House and Senate Leadership and with the House Financial Services and Oversight and Government Reform Committees. Iger also led Rep. Maloney’s efforts to advance multiple financial services-related regulatory and legislative issues and to successfully pass the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act reauthorization and the National Women’s History Museum Commission bill.
“With more than a decade of experience on Capitol Hill, Mike’s expertise across an array of issue areas will be a tremendous asset to GPG and our clients,” said Gregg Rothschild, Managing Director in the Government Affairs division. “We look forward to tapping into his extensive skill-set and insights to help our clients navigate the complex challenges they face in today’s legislative environment.”
Previously, Iger served as the Legislative Director and then Deputy Chief of Staff to then-U.S. Representative Maurice D. Hinchey (D-NY). Iger also worked as a consultant with the Boston-based firm, Altman Vilandrie & Co. advising clients on strategy and investment related matters.
