Intermarket Announces New Senior Hire and Several Additional Executive Appointments

by | Sep 12, 2019

Intermarket, the Top 10 financial PR specialist firm now part of London-based reputation management firm Lansons, announced that it has expanded its management team with a new senior level hire and three additional executive appointments to position the firm for accelerated growth from an expanded array of services.

Joining Intermarket from Nomura Americas, where she headed marketing, media relations and internal communications is Mary Chung, who will be Senior Vice President & Managing Director of Business Development.  In that capacity, Mary will advise several of the firm’s marquee clients as well as work with Intermarket President Martin Mosbacher in directing the firm’s new business acquisition efforts.

Prior to her time at Nomura, Mary held senior communications roles with several financial and technology firms, including The American Stock Exchange, now part of NYSE, ELX Futures, and Broadway Technology.  Mary also ran her own independent PR firm, Smash Street Media, for five years. Earlier in her career, Mary worked as a journalist for several news organizations, including the Financial Times, where she had her own weekly column, On Wall Street and CBS News. A holder of an M.S. degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, Mary has more than 20 years of experience representing or covering financial services companies.

“Mary will provide advice based on deep real-world experience in the trenches of financial services, technology and journalism, reflecting our strong commitment to client service and domain expertise,” said Matt Zachowski, Intermarket CEO. “She is also a natural storyteller with boundless energy. We are thrilled to have her onboard.”

In addition, Intermarket announced three other senior executive appointments, reflecting both the accomplishments and the growing responsibilities of members of the firm’s senior management team. Jade Faugno will be Senior Vice President & Head of Content, Eleis Brennan will be Vice President and Jelena Nedelka will assume the position of Assistant Vice President.

During her eight-year tenure at Intermarket, Jade has consistently exceeded the expectations of her clients by delivering exceptional media relations advice and high-value content.  A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Princeton University, Jade was recently recognized for her talents and contributions by the New York chapter of PRSA when she was named to its “15 Under 35” List in 2018.

Eleis, meanwhile, was a 2019 winner of PRSA-NY’s “Exceptional Under 35 Award,” which documents the accomplishments, creativity, and drive that today’s young communications practitioners show and recognizes those who are changing the landscape of the industry.  She joined Intermarket in 2015 after spending six years as a communications and public policy consultant in Washington, D.C.  Eleis has a B.A. degree in History from Holy Cross.

Jelena joined Intermarket in 2016 after six years of diverse experience in both the private and not-for-profit sectors, serving in a variety of agency and in-house roles.  Since coming on board, she has been point-person for a number of major Intermarket clients and has also served as the firm’s media training specialist.  Jelena holds an M.A. in Global Communications from George Washington University and a B.A. in English and American Literature from Middlebury College.
