M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment NYC has been named agency of record for leading fitness wearable brand WHOOP following an extensive competitive review. The agency will lead a comprehensive communications program to elevate WHOOP and introduce the brand to new global markets.
WHOOP is the human performance tracker that delivers 24/7 personalized fitness, sleep and recovery data in real time with the aim of helping users unlock their potential. Worn by elite athletes including NFL and PGA players to pro cyclists and master trainers, WHOOP provides a competitive advantage and optimizes performance by measuring recovery, strain and sleep with industry-leading accuracy.
The Boston-based company raised $100m in Series E funding in October, making WHOOP a start-up unicorn valued at $1.2 billion with investment from the likes of Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, 2x NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant, 11x Pro Bowler Larry Fitzgerald, 2x Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning, and 4x Major Champion Rory McIlroy. On January 6, WHOOP announced a landmark multi-year partnership to become the official fitness wearable of the PGA TOUR.
