Mirza appoints Clarity to help close the Gender Pay Gap

by | Mar 26, 2021

Clarity announced that it has been appointed by Mirza as its agency of record for marketing and public relations. Clarity will be working on PR, influencer management, and paid social marketing: helping drive awareness and signups to Mirza’s tools across US and UK markets.

Mirza is made for both individual users to better plan for their family finances and lifestyles, as well as corporate users who may adopt Mirza’s technology for HR departments, all helping to break down the gender pay gap.

Mirza joins Clarity’s roster of clients that the agency has partnered with as part of their commitment to working with more diversity-focused, purpose-focused businesses. As part of this commitment, last year Clarity announced a $1mm pro-bono fund for diversity-driven clients as well as joined forces with the Diversity Marketing Consortium, a group of agencies who have pledged $3mm in pro bono services to minority and women-owned businesses. In addition Mirza will be working with an experienced Clarity team that focuses on supporting rapidly growing early stage start-ups through a mixture of paid, PR and social consultancy.

Siran Cao, CEO, and co-founder of Mirza says, “When building a startup such as ours, one designed to force systemic change and have immediate impact on the lives of working parents, specifically women; the conversations we have must be direct, powerful and, ultimately, resonate with a global community. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner to help us build out our long term marketing and communications strategy. The Clarity team has gone above and beyond to set us up for success moving into critical stages of our company development – beta, launch and fundraising.”

Through the launch of their platform, Mirza is creating a supportive community for working moms, dads, and parents-to-be. Users are empowered to make informed decisions on the right time to start a family, childcare costs, fertility treatments, and how best to return to work after having a baby.  Using Mirza, couples can enter information on their income, childcare, and living expenses to see the impact starting a family will have on their career and salary. Mirza knows that knowledge is power, and they want to equip modern moms and dads with resources to become better informed on workplace policies, the motherhood penalty and other issues parents face.

Clarity’s team is led by Managing Director, Paul Cockerton, who in addition to leading Clarity’s offerings for startups worldwide, has for many years campaigned against unfair bias and for equal pay in the workplace.

Paul comments, “We strongly identify with Mirza’s mission and are honored to be working with them in helping to address and combat systemic forces that have meant working mothers in particular are unfairly penalised in the workforce. With a team based across the UK and US, we’re in a good position to promote Mirza to media, influencers and direct to employers and employees.”

If you’re a women or minority-led tech startup, or have a diversity or purposed-focused startup, get in touch with Paul Cockerton, MD, at paul.cockerton@clarity.pr,  to find out more about how Clarity can help or apply for inclusion in the $1m pro-bono fund.
