New York State destination marketing organizations, museums, attractions, restaurants and other tourism related businesses are rallying fellow New Yorkers to “Roam the Empire” this summer.
When the New York State Tourism Industry Association (NYSTIA) looked to combat the tourism crisis sparked by the pandemic, they turned to Mower, one of the country’s top mid-size digitally integrated marketing, advertising and PR agencies, with offices in many hard-hit regions, such as New York City, Buffalo, Rochester, Albany and Syracuse.
Enter “Roam the Empire,” a pro bono campaign by Mower that aims to inspire New Yorkers to choose to vacation in their home state, which could help reemploy 300,000 fellow New Yorkers who have lost tourism-related jobs during the pandemic in 2020. This will help revitalize local businesses and restore local tax revenue for economic recovery.
To support New York State tourism organizations and businesses as they spread the “Roam the Empire” message, Mower created a free, downloadable tool kit, complete with banner ads, social media graphics, posters, window stickers, as well as the campaign’s official logo and website. Since the launch on May 4, more than 80 New York State entities have signed on, and this is only the beginning.
