Firm Also Adds Capitol Hill Communications Director Isabella Victorio as Senior Associate, Grows Operations Team with Katie Kinsella as Director of HR Compliance

Washington, D.C. – Today, Narrative Strategies announced the addition of longtime journalist Tory Newmyer as Senior Director, bringing to the firm his two decades of experience covering business, finance, tax, and politics. Newmyer joins Narrative after seven years at the Washington Post, where he covered financial services, economic policy, and the intersection of business and politics—including leading coverage of the recent Sam Bankman-Fried cryptocurrency fraud trial. Narrative also announced the hiring of former Capitol Hill Communications Director Isabella Victorio as Senior Associate and Katie Kinsella as Director of Human Resources Compliance.

“Tory’s decades of expertise will be invaluable to our clients as companies and industries increasingly find maintaining their license to operate requires navigating the complex environment at the intersection of business and politics,” said Ken Spain, CEO and Founding Partner of Narrative Strategies. “Tory’s mastery of finance and tax issues, litigation, and politics will help our team and clients advance winning strategies and craft compelling narratives. Isabella’s understanding of the complicated landscape on Capitol Hill will support our clients most affected by an ever-evolving Congressional agenda. Katie will help Narrative facilitate its ongoing growth and allow us to dedicate even more resources to our clients.”

Newmyer joins Narrative after seven years at the Washington Post, where he launched the Finance 202 newsletter and made it a must-read among economic policymakers through his insightful coverage of financial markets, taxes, trade, and corporate governance. Before his time at the Post, Newmyer wrote for Fortune for seven years where he authored cover stories and features on the intersection of business and government. He previously worked at Roll Call, where he covered the lobbying industry, campaign finance, and House Democratic leadership. A native of Washington, D.C., Newmyer earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Columbia University.

Isabella Victorio joins Narrative after serving as Communications Director for U.S. Representative Cory Mills (R-FL-07). While on the Hill, she led media relations and strategic communication efforts on issues related to the Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees. Victorio also brings campaign and private sector experience to the firm, including recent roles at Targeted Victory and the Republican National Committee. Victorio holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and international affairs from the University of Georgia.

Narrative welcomes Katie Kinsella as the Director of Human Resources Compliance. She has spent her career managing HR operations across multiple countries and various M&A projects. Prior to joining Narrative Strategies, Katie was the director of HR at FCP, managing director for global HR at FrontierView. She has also worked for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Dickstein Shapiro LLP, and APCO Worldwide. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Michigan State University.
