Philadelphia PR Firm Devine + Partners Celebrates 20 Years

by | Jul 3, 2023

Philadelphia, June 20, 2023 – The original business plan called for a bank, a healthcare institution and a college or university as first clients. Instead, Devine + Partners landed a casino, a racetrack, a new golf course and a local gas utility in that first year, with representation of financial services, healthcare brands and higher eds happening after that. This is just one of many twists and turns that is being celebrated by Devine + Partners (D+P), a leading independent public relations firm based in Philadelphia, during its 20th anniversary year.

This firm kicked off the celebration this month with a series of videos, eblasts and social media content, thanking clients and staff for 20 years of trust and success.

“So much has changed in our industry since 2003,” said Jay Devine, president and CEO. “It has been thrilling to be at the forefront of the social media and owned content development revolution with much more of a focus placed on creatively delivering brand stories directly to client audiences. We are especially grateful for the client who have given us their trust over the last 20 years.”

Over the past 20 years, the firm has grown steadily in revenue and staff while being involved in significant national, regional and local events. These include the Philadelphia newspapers bankruptcy, the acquisition by Jefferson Health of five hospital systems and a major university and the visit of Pope Francis. More recently, D+P is proud to work with the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia to build awareness for the growth and expansion of the region’s cell and gene therapy industry.  The agency also works closely with the William Penn Foundation in its support of early childhood education, watershed protection and arts, culture and public spaces. Among the firm’s longest-standing client relationships are Firstrust Bank, the Mann Center and the Circuit Trails Coalition. Several important non-profit institutions like Gaudenzia and The Salvation Army rely on the firm’s steady counsel.

“D+P was launched in 2003 based on the idea that clients were looking for more senior counselors to provide day-to day-advice and execution,” Devine said. “Today, even as the communications world has evolved, D+P sticks steadfastly to this same principle. We call it Rest Easy.”

Issues management and crisis communications continue to be an important D+P practice area with clients seeking the firm’s guidance on how to manage mergers and acquisitions, leadership changes, unexpected shifts in markets or crises that emerge.

Devine + Partners’ areas of expertise have also evolved as it has added video capabilities, the development of info hubs for clients, the engagement of influencers and the expansion of its digital communications services.

“Our field continues to evolve at a rapid pace as media grapples with economic challenges, new models, emerging technologies, and new mediums, and our job is, as it’s always been, to anticipate what’s next and devise the strategies and approaches that will benefit our clients and their stakeholders,” said Devine.
