Rawle Murdy Rebrand Builds on Agency’s 47-Year History

by | Mar 11, 2022

Buffalo Groupe, LLC and Rawle Murdy announced its rebranding to BGRM, signifying Rawle Murdy’s evolution as part of the Buffalo Groupe — a collection of integrated marketing agencies, events, and media properties. In addition, Buffalo Groupe announced the relocation of its headquarters from Reston, VA to Charleston, SC.

“The acquisition of Rawle Murdy, and its subsequent expansion, is key for us in the execution of our strategy,” said Kyle Ragsdale, CEO, Buffalo Groupe. “Under its new name, BGRM maintains the legacy of agency leaders, David Rawle and Bruce Murdy, and illustrates the firm’s evolution within Buffalo Groupe. Charleston has also become the creative and digital hub for all of our companies. As a top destination with world-class talent and a thriving creative community, there’s no place more fitting to now serve as the new home for the “Herd.”

Rawle Murdy has a storied history dating back to 1975 when the agency was founded as David L. Rawle Associates. Rawle Murdy played a key role in establishing and growing the city’s creative industry and the agency has worked with many of the region’s leading public and private sector businesses. Bruce Murdy joined the firm in 1987 and was named partner in the re-named firm, Rawle Murdy, to help further grow the agency’s presence and service offerings. Murdy purchased the agency in 1998 and successfully guided the agency through its acquisition by Buffalo Groupe in 2019.

“As one of Charleston’s first-ever, full-service marketing firms, Rawle Murdy has a history of driving progress in the Holy City since 1975,” said Bruce Murdy, Managing Director of Rawle Murdy. “After joining Buffalo Groupe, we’ve become an important creative driver for this dynamic collective of agencies, thanks in part to the inspiring place we call home. As we continue to grow and thrive in our hometown, we’re thrilled to build on our legacy to become BGRM and to have Charleston serve as the base of operations for Buffalo Groupe.”
