Interpublic Group agency Golin announced a new client, Verra Mobility, after being named agency of record, following a recent competitive pitch.
Led out of Golin’s Dallas office, with support from New York and Chicago offices, the agency will elevate earned media coverage and executive visibility for the brand and president and CEO, David Roberts, through increased media relations efforts, brand reputation strategies and social media. Client work officially began on April 1.
“Verra Mobility is a global leader in smart transportation with decades of equity under a new name, with a new story to tell,” said Alex Tan, managing director, Golin Dallas. “As a progressive public relations agency, we’re excited to help them raise awareness for their already effective expertise and leverage our data-driven insights and influencer engagement to connect them to new audiences.”
Verra Mobility went public shortly after announcing its rebrand that combined legacy brands American Traffic Solutions (ATS), Highway Toll Administration (HTA) and Euro Parking Collection (EPC). Earlier this year, Verra Mobility issued the RFP to identify an agency who could lead the elevation and positioning of the new brand name, highlighting the CEO’s leadership, to external stakeholders.
“As we continued to increase visibility of our new brand name and grow our reputation with external stakeholders, we knew we needed a dedicated public relations partner with strong media relationships to take our communications to the next level,” said Roberts. “Golin has an incredible track record of longstanding client partnerships that have evolved over time, exceeding success. It’s already very clear that they understand our mission. If our team’s chemistry with them throughout the pitch and onboarding process is any indicator of what’s to come, I know we will do great things together.”
Golin launched a refreshed agency positioning last November to apply earned-first creative ideas to all client assignments to deliver maximum impact, and they are already activating that approach with Verra Mobility to help identify, craft and deliver new brand building stories. The agency’s first remit as AOR is to position Verra Mobility as a leader in the smart mobility and smart cities space.
“Public relations isn’t just about earning impressions anymore,” said Christi Beard, client lead and executive director, Golin Dallas. “We’re leveraging our global tools and talent, in partnership with Verra Mobility, to ensure we take thorough research of their industry landscape so we can identify the most effective media and messaging opportunities that will generate measurable results.”
