Howard Bomstein has joined Yes& as vice president for business development.

He is best known for founding The Bomstein Agency (TBA) in 1977 and growing it until became the Washington area’s largest locally-owned ad agency. Now he is bringing his strong connections and portfolio of real estate, automotive, media, retail, and utility contacts to fast-growing Yes&.

“I’m delighted to be back in the agency environment, and I could not imagine a better home than Yes&,” said Bomstein. “It is an extraordinarily talented team, and I am having a great time bringing them together with my network.”

Bomstein merged his agency with Williams Whittle in 2009, and became The Washington Times’ marketing director before joining The Washington Post as real estate advertising manager in 2014. He has been an adjunct professor of advertising at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business since 2010.

The American Advertising Federation named him as one of its 10 “Advertising Legends” in 2013. Also, he received a Lifetime Achievement award in 2000 from the Builders Association of Northern Virginia for his work in marketing for local homebuilding companies.

“Howard is one of Washington’s most creative advertising minds,” said Jeb Brown, chairman of Yes&. “He and I have been friends and competitors many years, and I have always respected his insights into what makes compelling advertising. I hated to compete against him, and now I am glad that he and I are on the same team.”

Bomstein joins Yes& at a time of high growth for the agency. He is one of several senior hires in recent months.

Yes& provides full-service marketing with award-winning design, public relations, content and events that serves clients in government, industry and nonprofit sectors.
