Zebra Partners Names Tetris/Nintendo Alum Casey Pelkey as New COO

by | Jul 26, 2022

Zebra Partners, a global, Seattle-based and industry-leading public relations firm in gaming, emerging technologies, and toys and family entertainment, announced the addition of games industry veteran Casey Pelkey as chief operating officer. In this leadership role, Pelkey will guide day-to-day operations, and help strategically drive the company’s fast-growing business, brand, expertise and culture with Zebra Partners’ founders, Perrin Kaplan, Beth Llewelyn and Kelli Horner, who started the women-owned company after executive roles at Nintendo.

“I have so much respect for what Zebra Partners’ founders have built, having worked with them as a co-worker and as a client, and have watched them rise from small startup to a respected PR partner for many of the top brands in games, toys and technology,” says Pelkey. “To join the Zebra team and help drive the agency’s future and continued growth is an opportunity that I’m thrilled to be a part of.”

With his own deep expertise, Pelkey has been entrenched in the world of games and technology, helping to shape and drive successful business and marketing growth initiatives for some of the world’s most popular gaming brands. Most recently, he served as vice president and general manager at Tetris, Inc., where he led global operations and brand marketing for all Tetris products, and the brand’s network of games; merchandise and entertainment licensees; advertising; communications and key business partnerships. Prior to Tetris, he held long-term executive roles with Tetris Online, Inc. as vice president of marketing, and Nintendo of America, Inc., where he served as business director, led internal communications and held other various management positions in production and development throughout his tenure.

“Just like the industries we work in, Zebra Partners has grown considerably since my partners and I started the company 14 years ago, particularly in the past few years, which is why we knew it was the right time to expand our team,” says Perrin Kaplan, principal and co-founder,  Zebra Partners. “Casey not only has the experience and insight to help keep our business on a successful path, he’s also someone we truly love to work with. We see him as a perfect fit for Zebra and welcome him to what we affectionately call the Zebra herd.”
