Atlantic, The: hires Rachel Donadio (@RachelDonadio) as Culture and Politics Writer in Paris. News editor Krishnadev Calamur (@kcalamur) will move to the newly established London bureau to become Global Diplomacy Correspondent. Assistant editor Yasmeen Serhan (@YasmeenSerhan) will become a Reporter in the London bureau.

Newsweek: global editor-in-chief Matt McAllester (@MattMcAllester) is on leave. Executive Editor Bob Roe will oversee coverage in his absence.

New York Times: staff editor Malecia Walker (@MaleciaWalker) has left.

NPR: moves Geoff Bennett (@GeoffRBennett) to White House Reporter, joining Scott Horsley (@HorsleyScott) and Tamara Keith (@tamarakeithNPR). National Political Correspondent Mara Liasson (@MaraLiasson) also covers the White House.

State, The (Columbia, S.C.): appoints Brian Tolley (@tolleybri) as Executive Editor, replacing Mark Lett, who retired.

Wall Street Journal: Jason Anders is now Chief News Editor. Natasha Khan (@natashakhanhk) has been appointed Asia Corporate Reporter in Hong Kong. She will cover business news across multiple industries, including manufacturing and robotics.


CNN: hires Hadas Gold (@Hadas_Gold) as a Reporter covering European politics, media, and global business. She begins after Labor Day.

NBC News: promotes “Meet the Press” producer Sarah Blackwill (@sarahblackwill) to Senior Producer of the program. “Meet the Press” producer Natalie Cucchiara (@nmcucchiara) is now Senior Coordinating Producer of the program. “Meet the Press” associate producer Sally Bronston (@salbron) has been named Producer.

Univision: news anchor María Elena Salinas (@MariaESalinas) will leave at the end of the year.

Business and Commerce

Forbes: hires Brett Knight as Deputy Business Editor.

Pittsburgh Business Times: Paul Gough (@PBT_Paul) is now covering energy and manufacturing.

Yahoo Finance: hires Amanda Fung (@amandafung) as a Staff Editor.

Consumer Lifestyle

Hearst Magazines: hires Jon Gluck (@Jon_Gluck) as Executive Director (editorial talent, development and special projects), effective Sept. 5. He will oversee senior-level editorial recruitment and development of new magazines and other projects.

Marie Claire: hires Chloe Metzger (@chloe_metzger) as Digital Beauty Editor.

Meredith Corp.: appoints Mindy Walker as Executive Editor of Parents magazine. She remains Executive Editor of Fit Pregnancy and Baby.

Vogue: hires Lauren Valenti (@Lauren_Valenti) as Beauty Writer.

BuzzFeed News: hires Vera Bergengruen (@VeraMBergen) as Pentagon Correspondent, effective August 28. Davey Alba (@daveyalba) joins in September as Senior Technology Reporter.

Center for Public Integrity: hires Joe Yerardi (@JoeYerardi) as a Data Reporter.

Politico: hires Jane Norman (@JaneNorman) as a Multi-Vertical Editor for Politico Pro, effective Sept. 5. She will oversee the education and budget/appropriations teams. She was previously a health policy editor for CQ. Christine Haughney (@chaughney) joins Sept. 12 as the Primary Writer for the “Morning Agriculture” newsletter.
