New York magazine: hires Laurie Abraham (@LaurieAbraham) as Executive Features Editor.

New York Post: hires Alexandra Steigrad (@AlexSteigrad) as a Media Reporter.

New York Times: promotes Adrienne Carter (@adriennecarter) to Deputy Business Editor.

Slate: promotes Lowen Liu (@lowenliu) to Deputy Editor.

Time: announced a series of high-level promotions. Siobhan O’Connor (@siobhannyc) remains as Executive Editor with oversight of day-to-day editorial operations for the magazine. She joined the magazine as its health editor. Executive Editor Sam Jacobs (@sampjacobs) will oversee editorial operations across all platforms. Executive Editor Matt Vella (@mattvella) will oversee enterprise coverage and big projects. Kira Pollack is now Deputy Editor.

Vox: promotes Eleanor Barkhorn (@eleanorbarkhorn) to Deputy Managing Editor, effective in November.

Washington Post: hires David J. Lynch (@davidjlynch) as an Economics Reporter. Elizabeth Bruenig (@ebruenig) is promoted to Writer and Editor for the Opinions team. Her interests include religion, culture and politics.

ABC News: promotes Dr. Jennifer Ashton (@drjashton) to Chief Medical Correspondent.

Bloomberg: promotes Kevin Whitelaw (@KevinWhitelaw1) to Deputy Managing Editor in the DC Bureau.

CBS News: appoints Jeff Glor as permanent Anchor of the “CBS Evening News.” Interim anchor Anthony Mason (@AnthonyMasonCBS) remains as Senior National Correspondent and co-host of “CBS This Morning: Saturday.”

Fox News Channel: Paula Rizzo (@ListProducer) has left to join Lights Camera Expert, a new media-training company.

NJBiz: hires John Parkinson (@NJBIZ) as Managing Editor.

Chicago magazine: dining editor Penny Pollack retires.
