29-Year PR Vet & Journalist Mayer Fertig Joins Steinreich Communications as VP

Steinreich Communications Group, an international public relations agency headquartered in the New York City area, has announced that Mayer Fertig has joined the firm as vice president, working in the firm’s nonprofit practice.

Fertig brings nearly three decades of public relations and journalism experience where he created and implemented global corporate communications programs for leading Jewish institutions, most recently as the chief communications officer for the American Committee for Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. He previously served as chief communications officer of the Orthodox Union and as senior director of media relations and public affairs for Yeshiva University. Prior to his public relations positions, Fertig served as the managing editor for WCBS-AM Newsradio 880, publisher and editor in chief for The Jewish Star, and as morning drive anchor for Garden State Radio News on stations in New Jersey and the New York City suburbs.

In addition to his professional achievements, Fertig is active in community organizations. He is a senior board member of Jew In The City, a trustee of Congregation B’nai Yeshurun in Teaneck, and a co-founder of Hatzalah Volunteer Ambulance Corps of Union County, NJ.

Fertig received his Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism from Brooklyn College. He resides with his family in Teaneck, NJ.
