Allison+Partners has hired Brian Kaveney as vice president, global reputation risk + public affairs. Kaveney’s focus will be on public affairs, issues management and crisis response for a variety of clients including those with mandates that involve working with elected officials. Kaveney will report to Barbara Laidlaw, partner and head of global reputation risk + public affairs.
Brian is a veteran strategic and crisis communications professional headquartered in Washington, D.C. His work as a strategist and senior advisor on Capitol Hill, most recently as a communications director, has exposed him to numerous policy issues across multiple committees: Homeland Security, Judiciary, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, and Budget, to name a few. He specializes in public affairs, issues management, media relations, brand management, message development, and crisis communications across all media types.
During his career, Brian has provided forthright guidance to congressional and association stakeholders at all levels. He has an established record of tracking legislation through the committee process, briefing members, lobbying for standards, and developing communication plans that facilitate stakeholder cohesion to reach desired outcomes.
Before joining Allison+Partners, Brian spent 15 years working for two members of Congress in Washington D.C.
