Tom Harper, an award-winning investigative journalist and specialist in strategic communication, crisis, international relations and public affairs, has joined APCO Worldwide as a director in the firm’s London office, London Managing Director Roi Feder announced.
Harper will support an array of the firm’s clients ranging from CEOs and C-level executives at the world’s largest companies to high-profile individuals and senior government officials, providing strategic counsel on topics including crisis, campaigns, politics, international relations and media.

Prior to joining APCO, Harper consulted for various communications agencies in areas including technology, finance, environmental and life sciences. Before he transitioned into consultancy, he worked as a multi-award-winning investigative journalist. As a home affairs correspondent at the Sunday Times, Harper covered topics regarding police, security, immigration, crime, the courts, hybrid warfare and cyber. He also served as the investigation’s editor of The Independent, overseeing several major investigations uncovering corporate corruption in London.
As a journalist, Harper received several honours such as the Scoop of the Year and Young Journalist of the Year at the British Press Awards. He has been recognized as a nominee for Specialist Journalist of the Year, News Reporter of the Year and Crime and Legal Affairs Journalist of the Year at the British Journalism Awards. Since leaving the Sunday Times, Harper has been working on his debut book covering Scotland Yard which will be published in Autumn 2022.
