Katherine Wawner, a brand strategy and marketing expert, has rejoined APCO Worldwide, announced Evan Kraus, global president and managing director of APCO’s Washington office. Wawner returns to APCO as a director after spending three years managing several multi-million-dollar brand campaigns in Australia and New Zealand for major corporations and organizations.

In her most recent role as a brand manager for VitaPet, one of the largest consumer pet brands in Australia, Wawner led all new product development and the company’s rebranding effort. In her role, Wawner oversaw consumer research, creative and packaging efforts and agency delivery on advertising, media and digital.
“After an incredible experience in the Australian market, rejoining APCO in Washington was the best decision I could have made,” said Wawner. “The decision was an easy one, and I am so excited to be back with former colleagues and the leadership team to collaborate on the world class work that APCO continues to deliver.”
Prior to her work at VitaPet, Wawner managed national advertising and branding campaigns across Australia and New Zealand for The Works and The White Agency, where she worked directly with CMOs to create and execute innovative and full-service efforts. Wawner’s previous time with APCO included managing multi-million-dollar global brand launches and Washington-focused advocacy campaigns.
A communications industry veteran, Wawner previously worked for MXM Social, Elevation Ltd., SAIC and Ein Communications before first joining APCO in 2014.
