APCO Worldwide Adds Prashanth Rajan as Director in Public Affairs Practice

Prashanth Rajan, a public affairs, policy and crisis communications expert, and a former foreign service officer at the U.S. State Department, has joined APCO Worldwide as a director in the firm’s public affairs practice, announced Evan Kraus, global president and managing director of APCO’s Washington office.

“Prashanth has a proven track record of helping clients develop strategies to cope with the most difficult geopolitical and business challenges,” said Kraus. “His experience at the State Department, with tours in India and Pakistan, will be invaluable to our team, and we’re delighted to welcome Prashanth to APCO.”

Before joining the private sector, Rajan spent seven years serving as a foreign service officer at the State Department, where he focused on political risk analysis, crisis communications, and immigration policy. During his time with the department, Rajan held roles in Washington, Pakistan and India.

After leaving the State Department in 2015, Rajan spent three years at KPMG Consulting, where he advised clients on corporate transformation, strategy, workforce planning, and crisis communications.

“In an increasingly divided geopolitical world, APCO has a proven track record of helping clients solve the most complex issues,” said Rajan. “I’m excited to join such a dynamic team and look forward to using my skillset and expertise to help clients adapt and thrive in such a challenging business and political environment.”
