Sara Amadei and Matteo Martone were promoted to serve as managing director and deputy managing director, respectively, of APCO Worldwide’s Italy offices, Paolo Compostella, president of APCO’s Europe region, announced.

“Since launching APCO’s first office in Italy in Rome and expanding our presence with an office in Milan in 2018, APCO’s multicultural and multilingual team has successfully helped clients navigate the complex regulatory, policy and media landscapes in Italy and around the world in an integrated manner—taking a holistic approach to corporate communications, public affairs, crisis management and advisory services, and collaborating with global colleagues every day as one team,” Compostella said. “Under Sara and Matteo’s leadership, we will continue our journey of growth and innovation to better help clients succeed during these unprecedented times.”

Amadei joined APCO in 2018 as a senior associate director in the Milan office, growing quickly to roles of increased responsibility, and most recently to lead of our operations in Milan as she helped clients operate across a variety of industries, including food and consumer goods, retail, health care and luxury goods. Amadei is a multicultural leader, with a broad experience in profiling business leaders, supporting their engagement in corporate and crisis communication, CSR and purpose driven efforts with a 360-degree approach.

“I am honored to have been named managing director of our operations in Italy. Paolo has certainly left me some pretty big shoes to fill. The Italy team has grown very considerably in the last years and today it is among our best performing businesses globally. My objective, together with that of my sensational management team in Italy, is to continue and accelerate this growth, leveraging on a pool of talent that represents our point of differentiation in the market. I am grateful to work at APCO, a woman-led multinational company that offers such a supportive and inspiring environment which is the cornerstone of everyone’s growth and success,” Amadei stated.

Martone joined APCO in 2012 and grew quickly within the firm, most recently serving as a director and lead of the operations in Rome. In his 10 years with APCO, he embraced most of our core services, becoming one of our most complete team members in terms of diversity of experience and skill sets. Martone successfully combines his passion for public affairs and politics with a solid understanding of omnichannel communication, providing critical advice across many industries including tech, manufacturing, retail and health care, and devising integrated campaigns to tackle business and societal issues of the highest complexity.

“I am proud and humbled to be part of the exciting journey that, over these years, brought our operations in Italy to grow so significantly. We have partnered with clients leading their respective industries and have constantly innovated to provide them with the most impactful services and the best talent. With the ongoing National Recovery Plan and the related reforms, companies operating and investing in Italy have huge opportunities to grow and APCO is here to help them navigate the Italian stakeholder environment,” Martone commented.

APCO’s robust presence in Italy is founded on the deep bench of experts with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the interplay between local, regional and global geopolitical environments and stakeholder expectations.

For more than 37 years, APCO has been a trusted advisor and partner to private, public and non-profit clients as they try to identify and manage new and emerging issues, challenges and opportunities around the world.
