Bospar announces record-breaking growth and 8 new hires

by | Sep 28, 2020

Bospar, the boutique PR firm that puts tech companies on the map, announced details surrounding its record-breaking growth over the last few months, resulting in the addition across several areas of business of eight new hires to its award-winning team.

Bospar, like its fellow PR agency counterparts, experienced devastating effects due to the onslaught of the pandemic. In the span of two months, nearly a quarter of Bospar’s clients left due to COVID-19.

“Instead of waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop, we took decisive action, using it as an opportunity to re-examine our entire business and emerging from the challenge stronger than ever,” said Curtis Sparrer, principal at Bospar. “We targeted new business that would benefit from the evolving economic conditions: telehealth providers, work-from-home solutions, air purification companies, bidets, racial justice organizations, and webinar and web conferencing companies.”

Bospar’s new economy strategy paid off. “Smaller agencies like Bospar are doing well, in part due to our ability to be nimble,” said Chris Boehlke, also a Bospar principal. “But our exponential growth is also a reflection of our ongoing ability to be strong partners with our clients and deliver results, even during the most tumultuous circumstances.”

One of Bospar’s top new hires is Joann Whitcher, who brings more than 25 years in media and communications experience to her role as content manager. Prior to joining Bospar, she was senior producer on the Custom Studio team at Haymarket Media, where she worked across four brands in the Business Media Group –  PRWeek, MM&M, Campaign, and McKnight’s – producing articles, eBooks and videos for healthcare marketing, PR, advertising, and senior living technology clients.

Whitcher joins Bospar, the pioneering virtual agency, as it approaches an annual run rate of $6 million in fee billings. “This is a critical moment for Bospar, and we’re excited to bolster our content team,” said Tricia Heinrich, chief content officer. “Joann has expertise in content strategy and development and also excels in operations and in fostering great client service. We are thrilled to have her on board.”

Whitcher is honored to be a part of the Bospar team. “I first got to know Bospar while managing a client microsite for PRWeek and was immediately impressed with their content acumen and media outreach skills,” she said. “Now that I am working here, I am even more impressed. Bospar leadership works hard to ensure the staff is well taken care of, and there is a true collaborative spirit across the company to keep pace with clients’ evolving needs.”

Along with Whitcher, Bospar is announcing seven additional hires as it looks to build one of the best talent rosters in tech PR:

  • Shannon Magill, Senior Account Director
  • Stephen Moodie, Senior Account Associate
  • Ami Atha, Account Associate
  • Sarah Joy Freeman, Account Associate
  • Taylor Cygan, Assistant Account Associate
  • Lilly Savin, Assistant Account Executive
  • Sarah Woelfel, Social Media Associate
