Bunim/Murray Productions announced that veteran development executive Rupert Dobson is joining the company as Senior Vice President of Development. Reporting to President of Entertainment and Development Julie Pizzi, Dobson is charged with developing entertainment formats for broadcast networks and premium streaming platforms.

Dobson most recently served as head of development at A. Smith & Co, where he spearheaded the creation of original formats including The Titan Games with Dwayne Johnson for NBC and Mental Samurai with Rob Lowe for Fox. He and his team were also responsible for developing Death by Magic for Netflix as well as series for TLC, HGTV and BET.
Before A. Smith & Co, Dobson was Vice President of Programming and Development at Base Productions, where he developed and produced series including Fact or Faked, Haunted Highway, Legend Quest, Deep South Paranormal, Stuntbusters and Human Wrecking Balls. Prior to that he worked in the UK for Twofour, developing and producing series for Channel 4, SKY, Channel 5 and ITV. He received a BAFTA nomination for Channel 5’s A Different Life.
