Centrify Bolsters Senior Marketing Leadership Team with Two Industry Veterans

by | Nov 9, 2017

Centrify, a leader in securing hybrid enterprises through the power of identity services, announced two prominent technology industry leaders have joined the company’s senior marketing leadership team. These important new additions coincide with other major milestones as the identity services industry leader increases its solution innovation and cloud security platform adoption with customers.

  • Karen Reynoldsjoins Centrify as vice president of corporate communications. Reynolds brings more than two decades of communications and marketing leadership to Centrify and will oversee worldwide public, analyst and influencer relations, executive communications, product communications, speaking programs and social media. She previously served as head of corporate communications at BMC and chief communications officer at Good Technology prior to it being acquired by Blackberry.
  • Andy Smithjoins Centrify as vice president of product marketing. Smith’s expertise spans twenty plus years and he will drive Centrify’s identity services security products and platform strategy. Prior to his Centrify appointment, Smith was responsible for Oracle’s go-to-market strategy for the company’s global identity and security business unit, where he successfully launched multiple security cloud services to many millions of users that transitioned customers from on-premises license to cloud.

“According to industry analysts, IDaaS and Privileged Access Management are both in their two to five-year stage of mainstream adoption with current market penetration under 20 and 50 percent respectively. This signifies a strong growth opportunity for Centrify, which has been recognized as a leader in both Privileged Identity Management and Identity as a Service,” said Rhonda Shantz, chief marketing officer at Centrify. “Andy’s and Karen’s appointments are a welcome addition to the leadership team at Centrify as we continue to build on our momentum and invest in the next phase of our growth in these two market segments.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining Centrify at a time when security has become such a critical business issue – major brands are seeing breaches decrease their shareholder value, increase their customer churn and tarnish their reputation. The stakes for properly securing access to corporate resources and handling security incidents couldn’t be higher,” said Reynolds. “I’m looking forward to working with this incredible team to build on Centrify’s strong market position and scale the company’s communications efforts forward. It’s time for companies to rethink security in today’s world of access.”

“With 80 percent of breaches involving compromised privileged credentials, the time to rethink our security approach around identity and privileged access is now,” said Smith. “I’m looking forward to driving Centrify’s product and market strategy forward. And, more importantly, empowering organizations to more effectively reduce the likelihood of a data breach by showing them that an organization without a mature IAM approach experiences two times more breaches and $5 million more in costs that those with a mature IAM approach.”
