Cognito Deepens Integrated Offering with Appointment of Four Directors

by | Jun 14, 2018

Cognito, the specialist integrated communications and marketing firm for the financial services industry, has appointed four new directors to deepen its brand, content strategy and digital marketing capabilities.

The new hires bring a dynamic mix of experience that will boost Cognito’s value proposition and give clients access to some of the best counsel in the industry.

Dominic Leung joins Cognito’s New York office as Group Strategy Officer and will focus on developing positioning strategies for Cognito’s global client base. He specialises in helping companies—from large multinationals to small, disruptive challengers—access untapped market opportunities and maximize their existing assets. He joins Cognito from Interbrand and has experience working in Europe, the US and Asia Pacific.

Rebecca Cooper joins as Director of Digital Strategy, also based in Cognito’s New York office. Rebecca is a leader in digital content strategy, providing counsel on the creation of paid, owned, earned and shared media. She was previously a Vice President of Digital Strategy at Ketchum and has worked with global brands including JPMorgan Chase, eBay, H&R Block and Hewlett-Packard Enterprises.

In his role as Director of Digital, James Hannaford advises on all aspects of digital marketing including website design, organic and paid search marketing. Prior to joining Cognito he founded his own boutique digital and web agency and had The Daily Mail Group, Vivienne Westwood and Channel 4 on his client roster. James is based in Cognito’s London office.

Emma Martin has been appointed as Director of Content Strategy for Cognito in EMEA. An expert content marketeer, she specializes in developing commercial marketing strategies for clients and has worked with BlackRock, Bloomberg, Fujitsu, Savills and UBS. She has joined Cognito’s London office from UK content marketing agency SevenC3.

Tom Coombes, Cognito Founder and CEO, said: “Clients are increasingly seeking consultancy for brand, digital and content strategy to meet complex communications and marketing needs. We are therefore continuing to hire the best talent in the industry and bring experts with diverse, complementary experience together to help companies tell distinct stories confidently and creatively. When combined with our deep sector knowledge, these skills mean we have never been better equipped to deliver value to our clients and to help them meet their business objectives.”

The four appointments come one month after Cognito announced Vivienne Hsu’s promotion to International Managing Director, leading Cognito’s Americas and EMEA businesses.
