This week, San Diego-based marketing agency, i.d.e.a., released its agency holiday video, a parody infomercial for a boxed set of 10 CDs and cassettes: It’s A Season! Office-appropriate Music to be Played in November and December.
“This year, everyone seemed offended by everything. So to avoid any controversy whatsoever, we released a collection of all the best holiday songs with every religious, spiritual and cultural lyric removed,” said Joe Nafziger, i.d.e.a.’s associate creative director. “‘It’s A Season!’ is the perfect soundtrack for the office, especially during these sensitive times.”
Marketing and advertising agencies typically create holiday videos with the simple goals of raising awareness, gaining exposure and providing holiday cheer. i.d.e.a. wanted to use the platform as an opportunity to give back to the community.
“The infomercial encourages viewers to ‘purchase’ the CD/cassette collection. But when you ‘buy’ this set, you’re actually donating to help end homelessness,” continued Nafziger.
Father Joe’s Villages is San Diego’s largest homeless services provider fighting to see an end to homelessness. Father Joe’s prepares up to 3,000 meals and provides care to nearly 1,800 individuals every day—from infants and adolescents to adults and seniors. They provide housing, rental assistance, healthcare, food, clothing, education, job training, mental health, addiction treatment and child development in an internationally modeled “one-stop-shop” approach.
100% of the profit from people who ‘buy’ the audio collection ($19.99) is sent directly to Father Joe’s through this website.
This is the third charity-driven video created by the Southern California marketers at i.d.e.a., who normally support Movember with its campaigns: We need you mo than ever and Mo’vangelist Harry Mustachio.
