DALLAS – Jan. 22, 2026 – North Texas-based strategic communications firm Cooksey Communications has been awarded a 2025 Pegasus Award in the Public Affairs category by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Dallas chapter. The prestigious Pegasus Award recognizes Cooksey’s work in developing a powerful, highly effective informational campaign in support of the City of Victoria’s May 2025 Venue Tax Election.
Cooksey worked with its client, the City of Victoria, Texas, to develop a strategic communications plan for an informational campaign designed to help voters understand the purpose of a Venue Tax proposal on the May 2025 ballot. Building on that plan, Cooksey also developed campaign artwork, website content and layout, community engagement events and activities, social media content, local media relations efforts, and print, digital and presentation collateral. Cooksey also helped the City plan and execute a potential voter survey, drawing on those survey insights to shape the informational campaign’s messaging. Those survey insights also informed Cooksey’s development of FAQs for the City campaign website and other campaign materials, to help potential voters understand the proposal and how it would ultimately impact the project, residents and businesses.
