ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 10, 2023) – At the annual Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Golden Image Awards Gala Aug. 8, 2023, several team members at Curley & Pynn Public Relations Management Inc. received awards for their professional contributions and outstanding work.
FPRA named Curley & Pynn Vice President Kacie Escobar, MBA, APR, “Member of the Year,” recognizing her dedicated service to the FPRA Orlando-Area Chapter and the Florida Public Relations Education Foundation. Escobar has volunteered in numerous roles on the FPRA Orlando-Area Chapter’s board of directors since 2013, including secretary, treasurer and president, and is a graduate of the Association’s leadership development program, LeadershipFPRA.
In 2022, she began a three-year term as a board member for the Florida Public Relations Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to advancement of the public relations profession in Florida. Escobar planned and directed its 2023 “Show a PR Colleague Some Love” valentine fundraiser, which raised a record-breaking $10,766 to fund professional development scholarships for public relations practitioners and students.
Curley & Pynn Vice President Heather Keroes, APR, Public Relations Strategist Sarah Kelliher and Associate Public Relations Strategist Stephanie Rodgers were also recognized for their efforts to promote the season’s premiere of “A World of Difference” on Central Florida’s PBS affiliate station, WUCF-TV. Curley & Pynn received a Judges’ Award and Award of Distinction for excellent work to achieve a maximum return on investment while promoting viewership and helping the show maintain its spot in the WUCF-TV lineup. At the end of its third season, “A World of Difference” ranked among the top five programs streamed locally on WUCF-TV and its fourth season will premiere on the PBS member station this fall.
The television program is produced by Curley & Pynn client, Beacon College, the nation’s first accredited baccalaureate institution for neurodivergent students. It examines neurodiversity issues related to learning disabilities experienced from birth to adult years, using compelling storytelling, conversations with experts, viewer Q&As and interviews with successful individuals with learning differences of their own.
