The Economist Events has selected financial services public relations and integrated marketing firm BackBay Communications as its PR agency for its second annual impact investing conference, to be held at Convene on West 46th in New York City on February 15, 2018.
The one-day event, “Investing for Impact: Risk, return and the future of the world,” will cover the ways in which the world is at a crossroads, and how the growing uncertainty is creating an increase in interest from investors. The conference will bring together more than 200 of the world’s leading financiers, institutional investors, policymakers, academics, and philanthropists, to discuss and debate the opportunities, strategies, and obstacles found in the global adoption of impact investing. The conference will cover a wide range of topics including financial returns in impact investing, impact venture capital, and gender-lens investing, among many others.
Terms of the engagement include raising awareness of the event and its speakers among key target media in the impact investing, socially responsible investing (SRI) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) investment communities, through pre-event digital communications, including a Q&A speaker blog available at www.economistimpactinvesting.com, and social media and media relations support at the event. BackBay also supports The Economist Group’s Finance Disrupted events, which take place in New York and London.
“There is a growing demand for impact investing among retail and institutional investors, and there are an increasing array of creative approaches to developing strategies that achieve strong societal benefits and investment returns,” said Bill Haynes, President and CEO of BackBay Communications. “The Economist Group has assembled global leaders to discuss the latest approaches to impact investing. The event will offer essential insights needed to help advance impact investing towards mass adoption.”
“The Economist Events is proud to be working with BackBay Communications again as our PR partner for our second-annual impact investing conference in New York,” said Leila Berkeley, SVP, Head of Economist Events. “BackBay’s deep expertise and strong financial services sector, coupled with this partnership, offers invaluable support for the Investing for Impact conference and the industry leaders who will be speaking.”
