Ohio’s largest integrated communications and public relations firm, Fahlgren Mortine, announced a plan for incorporating the operations of Mindstream Interactive, a firm specializing in customer experience (CX) with a digital-first approach. The two companies are based in Columbus and are both owned by Eastport Holdings.
By leveraging the combined staff, clients and operations of Mindstream Interactive alongside the Fahlgren Mortine digital services team and its recently acquired technology and user-experience shop, thePLAN, this digital center of excellence ranks among the largest digital and interactive capabilities in Ohio and the central U.S. as measured by staff size and revenue. The firms will have the ability to seamlessly share resources and services including customer experience, digital strategy and transformation, user experience, websites, CMS implementation, eCommerce, email and CRM, social engagement, sales enablement, search engine optimization, content strategy, digital design, analytics and more.
Total revenue is projected to exceed $40 million with nearly 250 employees.
Mindstream Interactive will retain and continue to market under its current brand name. The agency’s senior leadership and operations will now report to Fahlgren Mortine President Marty McDonald. The two firms have no immediate plans to consolidate their Columbus offices. Fahlgren Mortine is located in Easton Town Center at 4030 Easton Station and Mindstream Interactive is located downtown at 250 West Street.
According to Fahlgren Mortine Chairman and CEO Neil Mortine, “There are tremendous synergies gained by integrating the operations of Mindstream Interactive with Fahlgren Mortine. First and foremost, the two firms have been collaborating for years within the Eastport Holdings network to serve our respective clients and compete for new business. In fact, Fahlgren Mortine and Mindstream Interactive already have several clients in common.”
The two companies share clients in tourism and economic development, retail and home furnishings, workforce development, chemical manufacturing and more.
“In addition to collaborating with digital colleagues at Fahlgren Mortine and thePlan, the staff of Mindstream Interactive will now be able to better serve their clients by tapping the broader professional services capabilities of Fahlgren Mortine in the areas of public relations, advertising, media planning and buying among others,” Mortine says.
Together, the two firms will share human resources, staff recruitment, information technologies, and other internal resources.
In addition to Mindstream Interactive, Fahlgren Mortine operates two other companies under their original brand names. TURNER is a travel, hospitality and lifestyle firm based in New York and Denver. Powell, Ohio-based thePLAN is a digital technology and user experience firm that was acquired earlier this year.
