Two years after its launch, Fincom Alliance, the European network of independent communication agencies specialised in the financial sector and fintech, and led by Liminal in the UK, organised its first in-person congress in Lisbon.
The experts in attendance agreed on the importance of being able to offer a personalised approach for quality financial communication to help companies ensure on-brand reputation and visibility in the current environment of economic volatility and uncertainty.
The congress welcomed senior executives from across Europe that form part of the network: Liminal (United Kingdom), comma (Spain), Fargo (France), Mymediarelation (Italy), ALL Comunicação (Portugal), and TE Communications (Germany, Switzerland and Austria). All of them are leaders in financial communication and fintech in their own market.
For Fincom, one of the biggest priorities presented by the current macroeconomic environment will be to remind clients of the value of specialised, independent, and professional communications partners, ensuring that campaigns are based around strategic assessment of the business as a whole.
The ability to move quickly and think creatively will be more important than ever, with projects requiring hybrid, multidisciplinary and distributed teams that allow for the implementation of 360º strategies that are more liquid, flexible and multichannel. In this, Fincom seeks to go beyond media relations in helping companies adapt to the challenges of today’s market.
“Finally, we have had the opportunity to all meet together in person. It has been tremendously exciting and enriching, being able to meet with our European partners in Lisbon to map out future services, solutions and projects; exchange knowledge and information on our markets; and, most of all, empower and add value to our profession and other forms of offering more agile, creative and fluid financial and fintech communication,” explains Julian Rea, Managing Director of Liminal.
Fincom wants to be the benchmark in financial communication and fintech in Europe
Fincom Alliance reaffirmed in the congress its fundamental objective of becoming a leading reference point for financial communication and fintech in Europe. Since its creation in May 2020, the alliance has achieved a number of significant business milestones. On one side, it has incorporated the first major pan-European client into its portfolio: Spectrum Markets, a pan-European trading venue for securitised derivatives. Alongside this, the Alliance has collaborated on a dozen other clients, working in multiple countries, including supporting DNB AM in Germany, Switzerland and Spain and eToro in Spain and Italy.
This has all been possible due to the network enabling its partners to exchange insights and information to the benefit of their clients. Fincom also carried out two European studies about the impact of the Covid 19 crisis on financial communication and financial journalism.
In the sort of challenging environment we see today, the Alliance’s ability to offer integrated, pan-European communication strategies, but without losing the benefits of local specialisation in each market, is especially valuable. Currently, the network of European talent distributed across Fincom’s agencies comprises a total of 90 communication consultants in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Switzerland.
