French/West/Vaughan (FWV), one of the nation’s largest independently-owned public relations, advertising and digital marketing agencies, has appointed Kristen Levine president of its pet and veterinary practice, FWV Fetching. Levine had previously served as the division’s senior vice-president.
With a communications degree from St. Petersburg College in Florida, Levine began her 25-year career in the pet and veterinary industry as PR Director for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Tampa Bay, where she spent 15 years promoting pet adoption and pet lifestyle education.
In 2003, Levine founded Fetching Communications, the nation’s first marketing and public relations agency dedicated solely to the pet industry. The company built a national reputation as a trusted marketing and communications resource for pet-centric companies, veterinary practices and related organizations, including the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, PetSafe® Brand, Vetoquinol, Tomlyn and John Paul Pet, created by John Paul Mitchell Systems. Ten years later, she acquired PetPR.com, a news distribution service. In 2017, FWV acquired both companies launching its pet and veterinary division, FWV Fetching.
“Kristen is a nationally recognized authority in the pet and veterinary marketing space,” said FWV Chairman & CEO Rick French. “She has been a great partner to the agency over the past two years and we couldn’t be happier with how our pet and vet practice has grown under her leadership.”
As creator of the online platform Kristen Levine Pet Living, Levine is sought after as a pet parenting expert, media personality and influencer. Her advice has reached hundreds of millions of pet owners through features in national outlets including The New York Times, USA Today, Reader’s Digest, Good Housekeeping, Martha Stewart Living, Woman’s Day, Inc., Chewy.com and numerous pet and veterinary trade publications, as well as national broadcast media. She currently serves as a member of the BluePearl Clinical Trial Review Board and the Fear Free Advisory Group.
“I am thrilled to lead FWV Fetching as president,” said Kristen Levine. “To watch our practice grow as part of the FWV family, and to leverage our team’s integrated marketing expertise to help clients reach their goals, is incredibly rewarding.”
Since FWV was founded in 1997, the 113-person agency has emerged as one of America’s most successful mid-sized public relations, advertising and digital marketing firms. Ranked among the nation’s 20 largest PR firms overall (2019 O’Dwyer’s Ranking of Top U.S. PR Firms), FWV has captured 15 National Agency of the Year honors and has been ranked in the Top 10 of the Holmes Report Global Creative Index, as well as the #1 Agency “For People Who Like the People They Work With.”
