by | Feb 25, 2019

French/West/Vaughan (FWV), a Raleigh-based independently-owned public relations, advertising and digital marketing agency, led all winners in the prestigious Gold and Judges Choice categories at the 2018/2019 Triangle American Advertising Awards held Thursday night in downtown Raleigh, claiming five of the evening’s top honors and 14 overall.

Hosted by Triangle AdFed, the area’s chapter of the American Advertising Federation, the American Advertising Awards (formerly the ADDYs) is the industry’s largest and most representative competition, designed to recognize excellence in the art of advertising.

The Gold category honors the highest level of creative achievement across the various classes of competition. FWV campaigns on behalf of Wrangler Jeans and the J. Peterman Company were the top winners, with its Wrangler Legends video story featuring North Carolina flyfishing guide Katie Cahn taking one of the evening’s coveted Judges Choice awards along with accolades for best cinematography.

FWV also took home four Silver and five Bronze awards for work on behalf of Wrangler, J. Peterman Company, Skytrak and the V Foundation.

Founded in April 1997 by agency Chairman & CEO Rick French, FWV employs 113 public relations, public affairs, social media, advertising and digital marketing experts between its Raleigh, N.C. headquarters and New York City, Los Angeles and Tampa offices.

“Our creative teams continue to demonstrate that they are among the best in our industry, not just here in the Triangle but on a national level,” said Rick French, FWV Chairman & CEO. “This is also a testament to the outstanding talent in this market, as we saw last night in the award-winning work from agencies and organizations throughout the area.”

The awards were judged by an elite industry panel that included Leigh Farrior, ADDY Award-winning production director for Montgomery, Alabama creative agency Stamp; veteran writer and creative director Tony Sharpe, formerly with FCB Chicago; and New York-based creative director Marie Richer, a member of the Television Academy and the international jury of the FWA whose work has been awarded at Cannes, the One Show, D&AD and the Clios.
