by | Dec 17, 2019

GCI Health announced the opening of a Hong Kong office, its second in the Asia Pacific region. The new Hong Kong office will officially open on January 2, 2020, in response to the agency’s rapid Asia Pacific growth, and will be led by Director and Market Leader, Yvonne Yeung.

With over a decade of healthcare communications experience, Yvonne joins from The Hong Kong Council of Social Service where she was the PR lead for various wide-scale healthy ageing and gerontechnology initiatives. Prior to this role, Yvonne was Business Director for Mind Resource Ogilvy, post Ogilvy’s acquisition of the health specialist communications firm she co-founded. Having spent her entire career in Hong Kong, Yvonne brings deep local and regional integrated expertise to GCI Health and its client partners.

“Following a hugely successful year in Singapore, our flagship Asia Pacific hub office, our opening in Hong Kong and the appointment of Yvonne marks the start of a planned footprint expansion across the region, evolving our capacity to deliver regionally as well as locally in key markets,” said Singapore based Regional Managing Director Rikki Jones.

GCI Health’s Asia Pacific growth continues with the appointment of an additional senior hire in Singapore. Dan Blomfieldhas joined in the newly created role of Managing Director, Singapore. Dan will oversee Singapore based operations and complement the existing health communications business with a broader medical and healthcare professional focus.

Dan was most recently Managing Director, Ogilvy Health Singapore and has close to 15 years of medical communications agency experience, gained via agency roles in Singapore and the UK. Prior to joining Ogilvy Health, Dan was Client Services Director for MIMS, Asia’s largest HCP network and medical communications company. He previously worked in a similar role for Incuna, a health tech agency headquartered in the UK and Singapore.

“Our geographic, people and capability expansion in Asia is a huge testament to the proven need for specialist agency expertise in the region,” said CEO Wendy Lund. “We’ve added a significant number of new clients to our Asia Pacific roster in Singapore this year, and with the appointment of Yvonne and Dan, both with proven client service and diverse capabilities, we’re poised for even further growth and footprint expansion under the regional leadership of Rikki Jones.”
