Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) has made two new appointments to its global leadership team. Tomasz Karasek joins H+K as Global Head of Strategic Initiatives and Ed Patterson has been appointed Global Head of Communications. Both will be based in New York.

Karasek joins H+K from McKinsey & Company, where he managed business planning and growth-focused engagements with corporate and public sector clients. Throughout his career as a management consultant, he has advised companies across a variety of industries, including finance, biotech, consumer goods and technology, while partnering with strategy, corporate finance, sales and marketing and transformation business functions in both the Americas and Europe. Karasek holds an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania.
Patterson brings more than 20 years of experience in public relations and communications strategy to H+K in both corporate and agency roles and is credited with successful communications and public relations strategy and implementation for consumer and B2B brands. Prior to joining H+K, Patterson served as vice president, communications at Madison Square Garden. His background also includes communications and public relations leadership roles with Veritiv Corporation, Cox Enterprises, Edelman and AT&T.
The addition of Karasek and Patterson adds to recent talent and leadership appointments to support the agency’s global growth and U.S. transformation. Other recent leadership announcements include Avra Lorrimer as EVP, H+K New York, John Derryberry to lead the U.S. Technology sector, Molly Schlinger as Creative Strategist and Lilly Kofler as Director of Behavioral Science.
